Trading Standards needs your help
West Sussex County Council Trading Standards Service relies on information provided by residents to identify undesirable and illegal trading activity affecting communities and individuals in the County. They need to know who is carrying out these kinds of activities and also who is being targeted so that appropriate action can be taken to protect residents.
Matters that Trading Standards are particularly interested in receiving information about include traders cold calling on vulnerable residents in order to offer home improvement services such as gardening, roofing and driveway work; the sale of illegal tobacco and alcohol including sales to young persons; residents who are being targeted by scam mail; other similar types of undesirable activity, particularly where traders are seeking to exploit vulnerable residents or to intentionally mislead their customers.
If you have any information, either currently or at any time in the future, about traders who you believe may be engaged in such activities or anyone who you believe may be a victim of such activity then you can report your concerns direct to Trading Standards online by completing an Incident Report Form at www.westsussex.gov.uk/tsreport
The Incident Report Form provides an easy to use one way reporting mechanism direct to Trading Standards. If you need advice in relation to a matter, for example, you may be experiencing problems relating to goods or services that you have purchased, then you should contact Citizens Advice Consumer Service on 08454 04 05 06 or online at www.adviceguide.org.uk. The information you provide to Citizens Advice via this help line will also be forwarded to Trading Standards for information.
Urgent assistance requests
